One Year Older

Ending 1

Maya, Adobe After Effects

A 3D animation that explores the fear and uncertainty of growing older. The story follows a lone fish trapped in its tank, grappling with the unknown world beyond the glass. Through a moment of emotional turmoil, the fish ultimately decides that with age comes the responsibility to face the world, leaping into the unknown.

This piece reflects the bittersweet reminder that every birthday brings—the simultaneous excitement and dread of navigating an unpredictable future. I combined my personal artistic style with 3D animation to create nostalgic, relatable characters that evoke a deeper emotional impact when they face hardship. By mixing whimsy with introspection, One Year Older captures the delicate balance between fear and courage in growing up.
